My Dogs

I have always loved animals. As a kid, I had dogs, cats, fish, gerbils, hamsters, birds, lizards and many other animals as pets. But I truly believe dogs are man's best friend. In the early 90's, I met someone that owned a Wolf-hybrid, and quickly became fascinated with Wolves and Malamutes. After being dogless during my college years, I decided it was time to have a dog again, and I wanted it to be a hybrid.

Tika

Tika is the first of my lupine brood, born on October 15, 1993. She is a 65-pound, 17% Timber Wolf-Hybrid, mixed primarily with Alaskan Malamute. She also has traces of Rottweiler, Siberian Husky, and Shar-Pei in her lineage. Yes, it is quite a mix, but she has proven to be the most wonderful, loyal, and sentient canine companion I have ever known. For more pictures of and info about Tika, click here.

When Tika was about two years-old, I decided I wanted to have a litter of puppies - so Tika could have a companion; to keep the family line going; and so I could raise one from the very beginning. I arranged for her to breed with another hybrid, and was greeted by a large litter of "fuzzy sausages" on the night before Thanksgiving, 1995.

Chiquita ("Quita")

Quita is the last of 10 puppies born to Tika on November 21, 1995. At 60 pounds, she is slightly smaller than her mother, but having never been 'weaned' and still living with her mother, she still acts just like a spoiled, but good, little girl. Quita's father, named Dakota, was a 3/4 Arctic Wolf, which makes her just slightly more than half-wolf. Click here to see and learn more about Quita.
